Hi there.
I’m a creative problem solver who is happy to work as part of a team, or fly solo. I’ve got a background in print design, but also like to dabble in digital.
I’ve been working as a full-time/freelance Senior Designer for the past eight years on a mix of projects big to small, from brand refreshes to corporate infographics and everything in-between. Prior to that I was living in London for about six years, freelancing and travelling, after having burst onto the Sydney design scene in the heady days of the dot com crash. Those were the days.
What else to say about myself? Firstly, I hate writing these things. What motivates me? I like making things – whether it’s making something new, or breathing new life into something existing. ‘Kaizen’. Right before lockdown I built a cubby house for my two boys and it was possibly the wisest thing I’ve ever done. I can also make beer! Long-suffering Arsenal fan. It’s been a rough season, but there’s always the next one.
Work history
2012—Present
Senior Designer, Ink Project
As part of a tight-knit team, I have worked on a wide range of things from creating new identities or working within existing guidelines, through to corporate collateral and internal comms pieces, helping with the creation of on-screen channel graphics, website design, digital signage systems, etc.
2006—2012
Freelance designer, various London agencies
In London I freelanced as a designer/artworker at many agencies while doing the travelling thing, which enabled me to hone my technique and gain insights from a wide range of places and clients. Eventually I settled down at Sutton Young – a company that dealt with high-end property investment and development.
Throughout this period I worked on a diverse mix of clients and projects. From a campaign to establish a whole new postcode worth of development, to retouching, to working in the studio at various ad agencies from scamps or designing from scratch, etc.
